  • Huge interest in cross institutional collaborative project call
March 2018

The inaugural call for expressions of interest from staff in inter-institutional and regional focused projects across the South East closed in February. There has been huge interest in and appetite for the scheme ‘on-the-ground’, with almost 200 people from both Institute of Technology Carlow and Waterford Institute of Technology, as well as partner organisations from across the South-East, being involved in submitting their ideas and proposals for cross-institutional collaborative projects.

Project co-ordinators, Dr. Richard Hayes in Waterford and Dr. David Ryan in Carlow are delighted with the level of interest in this initiative and the very obvious enthusiasm evident in both Institutes, and amongst project partners, in building relationships and alliances to enhance regional capacity across the South East. Projects range from excellence in access, teaching, learning and assessment, to enhancing regional research and industry engagement, to collaborating on and optimising institutional systems and technologies.

All expression of interest submissions are currently being considered with the possible alignment or combination of proposals into larger project themes to optimise the regional impact of project outputs. Applicants will be invited to progress their project to a full submission later in March.
