Members of the Oireachtas express strong support

Letter in Support of the Technological University of the South East

We, Oireachtas members from Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford and Wexford, from all parties and none, express our strong support for the application for Technological University status being lodged by the Institutes of Technology at Waterford and Carlow.

We are very grateful for the ongoing work of the students, staff and management at the Institutes and the project team in preparing a comprehensive application and also in setting out a vision for higher education and research that aspires to help drive the social and economic development of our region.

We welcome the commitments by Government to support capital developments and research capacity of the new multi-campus university.

We will support our new university as it grows and look forward it coming into being on 1st January 2022
